Start-up Goodless verhuurt SmartCups

Start-up Goodless hires “smart” cups

Unfortunately, the plastic waste mountain that is left behind after a festival or event is a familiar picture. However, single-use plastic is prohibited by law in the near future. Sander Van Waes wants to anticipate this legislation and the social evolution around sustainability with his start-up Goodless.

With the start-up Goodless, Van Waes developed the SmartCup. As the name suggests, this is a “smart” cup, produced from polypropylene, 100% reusable and equipped with a chip. With each payment of a consumption, the SmartCup is linked to the user’s personal account by placing the cup on an associated mat for activating the integrated chip. When the cup is empty and deposited in a so-called collector or SmartBin, the consumer automatically gets the credit refunded.

Collection system

The collection system is also conceived and developed by Van Waes. He has patented his self-developed software and collection bins, which means that the system is unique in Europe. Thus Van Waes.
