Nieuw verpakkingscentrum voor Metsä Board

Metsä Board, deel van de Metsa Group, wil een nieuw Karton en Verpakking Excellence Centrum verwezenlijken in het Finse Äänekoski.

Het nieuwe centrum zal verpakkingsontwerp en R&D onder één dak combineren om de ontwikkeling van nieuwe karton- en verpakkingsoplossingen van de toekomst te stimuleren, stelt Metsä Board.

‘Het nieuwe Excellence Centrum maakt een breed scala aan samenwerking in de waardeketen mogelijk, met name op het gebied van holistisch verpakkingsdesign. Wij kunnen samen met onze consumenten en partners workshops over verpakkingsdesign en innovatiedagen organiseren om het volledige potentieel van onze lichtgewicht, vezelkarton te demonstreren’, zegt Sari Pajari, SVP Sales en Marketing bij Metsä Board.

2020

Het centrum zal worden gerealiseerd in een bio-economisch ecosysteem en omvat kantoren, een laboratorium, R&D-faciliteiten en een verpakkingsontwerp studio, evenals een klant feedback centrum. De bouwstart staat gepland voor deze zomer en het doel is dat het centrum in 2020 operationeel is.

New Paperboard and Packaging Excellence Centre

Metsä Board, part of the Metsa Group, will establish a Paperboard and Packaging Excellence Center in Äänekoski, Finland.

The new centre will combine packaging design and R&D under the same roof to be able to boost the development of new paperboard and packaging solutions of the future, according to Metsä Board.

‘The new Excellence Centre will enable a wide variety of collaboration, especially in the area of holistic packaging design, throughout the value chain. We will be able to organise packaging design workshops and innovation days together with our customers and partners in order to demonstrate the full potential of our lightweight, fibre paperboards’, said Sari Pajari, SVP Sales and Marketing, Metsä Board.

2020

The centre is situated in a bioeconomy ecosystem and will include offices, a laboratory, R&D facilities and a packaging design studio, as well as a customer feedback centre. The construction start is planned for this summer with the aim for the centre to be operational in 2020.
