Bruichladdich Distillery, gevestigd op de Isle of Islay in de Binnen-Hebriden, heeft vorig jaar haar eerste Linx CSL 30 codeerder van Linx Printing Technologies geïnstalleerd voor de productielijn van haar gin. Deze aankoop is gevolgd met een zelfde machine voor haar whisky-lijn.
De CSL30, geïnstalleerd in de fles-etiketteerder, codeert twee lijnen in een hoogte van 5 mm op de bodem van de glazen gin-flessen. De codes bestaan uit een lijn-nummer en een batch-code, inclusief een uniek fles-nummer en de productiedag en –tijd van de flessen. De lijn loopt momenteel op 2.100 flessen per uur, negen uur per dag, met een productie van 1,2 miljoen flessen per jaar.
De Linx CSL30 codeert op de whisky-lijn heldere, geëtste codes die duidelijk leesbaar zijn. Deze mogelijkheid van laser codering voor het creëren van een zichtbare code op ieder kleur en vorm van een fles is met name belangrijk voor Bruichladdich, omdat veel van haar whisky-flessen zwart zijn, stelt Linx Printing Technologies.

Installed in the bottle labeller, the CSL30 codes two lines, 5mm in height, onto the bottom of the glass gin bottles. The codes comprise a line number and a batch code, including a unique bottle number and the bottle’s production date and time. The line currently runs at 2,100 bottles per hour, nine hours per day, producing 1.2 million bottles per year.
On the whisky line, the Linx CSL30 codes clear, etched codes that are highly legible. This capability of laser coding to produce a visible code on every colour and shade of bottle is particularly important to Bruichladdich, many of whose whisky bottles are black, Linx Printing Technologies states.
