Guhl-fabrikant kiest duurzame verpakkingen

De Japanse fabrikant voor consumptiegoederen Kao kiest bij de herlancering van haar merk Guhl voor duurzame verpakkingen. Sinds het begin van dit jaar zijn de shampoo- en conditionerflessen van het haarverzorgingsmerk met een nieuw verpakkingsconcept op de markt.

De shampooflessen van Guhl bestaan voor 50% uit gerecycled polyethyleentereftalaat (rPET), terwijl de conditionerflessen voor 100% uit polypropyleen (PP) bestaan. Deze zijn dus volledig recyclebaar. Met de 15 miljoen flessen die jaarlijks wereldwijd worden geproduceerd, kan Kao naar eigen zeggen bijna 780 ton CO2, meer dan 520.000 liter water en 180 ton PET besparen door gebruik te maken van rPET.

Duurzaamheidsstrategie

Guhl is het eerste Kao-merk in Europa dat de nieuwe wereldwijde duurzaamheidsstrategie van het bedrijf implementeert.

Manufacturer Guhl chooses sustainable packaging

The Japanese consumer goods manufacturer Kao chooses sustainable packaging at the relaunch of its brand Guhl. Since the beginning of this year, the shampoo and conditioner bottles of the hair care brand are on the market with a new packaging concept.

The shampoo bottles of Guhl consist of 50% of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), while the conditioner bottles consist of 100% of polypropylene (PP). So these are fully recyclable. With the 15 million bottles produced worldwide every year, the companys says it can save almost 780 tonnes of CO2, more than 520.000 litres of water and save 180 tons of PET by using rPET.

Sustainability strategy

Guhl is the first Kao brand in Europe that implements the new global sustainability strategy of the company.
