Magnum-ijs zit voortaan in een gerecyclede kunststof beker. In samenwerking met SABIC, een internationale petrochemische onderneming, heeft Magnum een verpakking ontwikkeld die uit gerecyclede kunststof verpakkingen bestaat.
Op de hoogte blijven van nieuwe verpakkingsontwikkelingen?
De nieuwe ijs-verpakkingen dragen bij aan de ambitie dat Unilever, waar het Magnum-merk onder valt, zichzelf ten doel heeft gesteld. Het bedrijf wil dat in 2025 minstens 25% van haar kunststof verpakkingen geproduceerd is van PCR (post-consumer) materiaal en zo deel uitmaakt van een circulaire economie. Unilever wil ook dat tegen 2025 100% van haar kunststof verpakkingen herbruikbaar, recyclebaar of composteerbaar is.
Wereldwijd
Op dit moment zijn de ijsbekers alleen nog maar voorradig in België, Nederland en Spanje, maar zijn vanaf 2020 wereldwijd verkrijgbaar.

Magnum ice cream is as of now available in a recycled plastic pint. In collaboration with SABIC, a global petrochemical company, Magnum has developed a packaging which consists of recycled plastic packaging.
The new ice packaging contribute to the ambition Unilever is aiming at. The company wants that at least 25% of its plastic packaging is produced of PCR (post-consumer) plastic in 2025 and, as such, to be a part of a circular economy. Unilever also wants 100% of its plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025.
Worldwide
At this moment, the pints are only for sale in Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain, but are as from 2020 worldwide available.
