In 2004 French company Packalim developed a unique packaging for a producer of meat products. This unique MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) packaging concept for some reason remained saved for this customer for a long time. Recently Packalim is part of the Belgian P. van de Velde Group and the packaging is now introduced to the market by the company.
Combipack is a composite packaging and consists of a duplex cardboard outside and a thin film of plastic, which makes airtight packaging possible. Compared to classic MAP packaging, the plastic part of the packaging is only 20%. The plastic part is easy to separate from the cardboard, explains the enterprise.
Three types
There are three variants of the Combipack.
Classicpack is the basic form. The combipack is filled with salads, meals or meat snacks and the packaging will be closed airtight with a sealable lid.
Nomabox contains a shielded space to deliver, for example, a spoon or another accessory.
Doublepack is provided in the form of a so-called hamburger packaging. The consumer can prepare the doublepack with the product and all in the microwave. A so-called suspector plate provides a crispy layer around the product despite the preparation in the microwave.
