FrieslandCampina gaat haar langhoudbare producten verpakken in de nieuwe TBA Edge Bio-based verpakking van Tetra Pak. De innovatieve verpakking is voor meer dan 80% geproduceerd van plant-based materialen.
Het karton van de TBA Edge Bio-based verpakking is geproduceerd uit hout van verantwoord beheerde bossen, voorzien van het FSC-etiket. De kunststof dop en buitenlaag zijn gemaakt uit plant-based materialen, met suikerriet als basis. De nieuwe verpakking levert een CO2-besparing tot 17%, zo blijkt uit een levenscyclusanalyse van het Zweedse milieuonderzoeksinstituut IVL.
De nieuwe Chocomel-verpakking heeft van Vinçotte een viersterren certificaat “Ok Biobased” gekregen. Vinçotte is een Belgisch geaccrediteerde inspectie- en certificeringsinstelling die wereldwijd vaststelt wat het aandeel van hernieuwbare grondstoffen in een verpakking is.
FrieslandCampina streeft naar een duurzaam imago voor haar Chocomel-merk en gebruikt UTZ-gecertificeerde cacao – het belangrijkste ingrediënt van Chocomel.
Dutch dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina is packing its long-life products in the new TBA Edge Bio-based packaging of Tetra Pak. The innovative packaging is for more than 80% produced of plant-based materials.
The cardboard of the TBA Edge Bio-based packaging is produced from wood from responsibly managed forests, provided with the FSC label. The plastic cap and outer layer are made from plant-based materials, with sugar cane as a base. The new packaging provides CO2 savings of up to 17%, according to a lifecycle assessment of the Swedish Environmental Research Institute IVL.
The new Chocomel packaging has received a 4-star certificate “Ok Biobased” of Vinçotte. Vinçotte is a Belgian accredited inspection and certification institute which establishes worldwide the contribution of renewable raw materials in a packaging.
FrieslandCampina is aiming for a sustainable image for its Chocomel brand and uses UTZ certified cacao – the main ingredient of Chocomel.
