Fillbee, een “zero waste” retourneerbare drankverpakking voor vier of zes flessen, geproduceerd door DS Smith, is ontworpen om wikkelverpakkingen voor dranken te doen verdwijnen, hergebruik van flessen te promoten en het inzamelingspercentage van blikjes te bevorderen.
De retail-ready verpakking stimuleert het hergebruik voor consumenten, omdat Fillbee naar eigen zeggen gemakkelijk te stapelen is, mee naar huis te nemen en terug te brengen is naar de winkel. Het duurzame, houdbare materiaal van de verpakking gaat jaren mee en kan volledig worden gerecycled na langdurig gebruik. De verpakking bestaat uit één enkel materiaal, dus de manden en de etiketten kunnen samen gerecycled worden zonder te scheiden. Door de beschermende verpakking kunnen hervulbare flessen 50 keer worden gebruikt en geretourneerd.
World Food Innovation Awards
De milieuvoordelen van de herbruikbare verpakking werden erkend door de 16-koppige internationale jury van de World Food Innovation Awards, door Fillbee te nomineren als finalist in de categorie “Best Sustainable Packaging”.
Dit jaar zullen de winnaars worden bekend gemaakt tijdens een speciale ceremonie op het International Food & Drink Event (IFE) op 18 maart in Londen.
Fillbee, a “zero waste” returnable beverage pack for 4 or 6 bottles produced by DS Smith, was designed to eliminate wrapping packaging for beverages, promote the reuse of bottles and improve the collection rate of cans.
The retail-ready packaging encourages ease of reuse for consumers, as Fillbee is easy to stack, take home and return the bottles to the store. The sustainable durable material of the pack lasts for years and can be fully recycled after its useful long life. The packaging is made of one single material, so the baskets and the labels can be recycled together without the need of sorting. Through the protective packaging, refillable bottles can last up to 50 return trips.
World Food Innovation Awards
The environmental benefits of the returnable pack were recognized by the international jury of the World Food Innovation Awards, by nominating Fillbee as a finalist in the category “Best Sustainable Packaging”.
This year the winners will be revealed at a special ceremony at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) on the 18th March in London.
