Smurfit Kappa, producent van Bag-in-Box verpakkingsoplossingen, heeft haar assortiment verpakkingsoplossingen uitgebreid voor de appelsap-markt.

Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box ontwikkelde de Thermo Bag om tegemoet te komen aan de specificaties van hot filling, wat een gebruikelijke methode is in de drankenindustrie. Tijdens hot filling wordt het product geperst, gefilterd, gepasteuriseerd en gevuld op hoge temperatuur voor het vergemakkelijken van sterilisatie, en dan meteen gekoeld voor behoud en smaak. Deze methode heeft het verlengen van de houdbaarheid, het verwijderen van eventuele schadelijke micro-organismen, kostenverlaging en vereenvoudiging van het proces als voordeel, stelt de verpakkingsfabrikant.

Thermo Bag

De nieuwe, innovatieve Thermo Bag is een barrière zak geproduceerd van speciaal gecoëextrudeerde PE-film (MDPE voor thermo-weerstand en LLDPE voor flexibiliteit) en EVOH voor zuurstof barrière.

Bag-in-Box for apple juice

Smurfit Kappa, producer of Bag-in-Box packaging solutions, has expanded its range of packaging solutions for the fresh apple juice market.

Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box developed the Thermo Bag to meet the specifications of hot filling, which is a commonly used processing method in the drinks industry. During hot filling, the product is pressed, filtered, pasteurised, heated and filled at high temperature to facilitate sterilisation and then immediately cooled for preservation and taste. This method has the advantage of extending shelf life, removing any harmful microorganisms, reducing costs and simplifying the process.

The new, innovative Thermo Bag is a barrier bag made from special coextruded PE film (MDPE for thermo-resistance and LLDPE for flexibility) and EVOH for oxygen barrier.
