Smurfit Kappa Olen, één van de sheetplants binnen Smurfit Kappa Corrugated Benelux, is actief op het gebied van op-maat-gemaakte verpakkingsoplossingen. Met de installatie van een nieuwe machine, de Limitronic, is het bedrijf in staat om op een reeds volledig verwerkte doos een bedrukking toe te voegen. Omdat de bedrukking door een digitale printer op de verpakking wordt geplaatst, is het naar eigen zeggen ook mogelijk om kleine aantallen te produceren.

Deze innovatie biedt tal van toepassingsmogelijkheden, informeert Smurfit Kappa. Zoals bijvoorbeeld het personaliseren van verzenddozen voor het e-commercekanaal, kleine aantallen verpakkingen voor start-ups of het ondersteunen van de marketingafdeling bij het uittesten van nieuwe producten in de markt.
